Sync 2 computers DAW

Hey, folks!

I've been using my Nome I for syncing my hardware + Bitwig since I got it from the Kickstarter times, it's been amazing, never let me down with a hybrid setup (modular + hardware + DAW).

But this weekend me and some friends are going to have a big jam (we are 6 performers), and one of them is also going to use a DAW with a Nome I. I realised I have no idea how we could sync both of our Nome Is + our DAWs to keep the same clock distributed to everyone.

I'll be the master clock with my Bitwig, what would be the best approach to sync both of our DAWs? After that it will be pretty straightforward, the other performers will only be using hardware

Interesting setup! It all depends what the other DAW is.

Most DAWs have Ableton Link implemented, so you could try syncing the 2 DAWs with Ableton Link, and then each DAW gets its sync'ed Nome, or since U-SYNC 2.0 you can also load the plugin twice in Bitwig to sync both Nomes to your Bitwig.
Ableton Link will impact U-SYNC, we have tested this a bit but for now it's still on the edge of a supported configuration. I also believe there are quite a few people using it like this already. If you find any issues using this let us know

Alternatively. if the other DAW can sync to MIDI Clock (I think only Ableton, Bitwig, FL and Reason can do that), you can sync both Nomes to your Bitwig using either U-SYNC or using an audio cable between the 2 Nomes (see https://manuals.simntonic.com/nome-ii/c ... s-together ), and then sync the DAW to one of the Nome's MIDI Clock.

Thanks for the prompt reply, Simon!

The other DAW will also be a Bitwig instance so I will try to use Ableton Link, and if we get any issues with it and U-SYNC I can report back to help out

If that doesn't work at least it's good to have the option of using the Audio Out -> Input to the other Nome I and use the 2nd one for slaving the 2nd Bitwig.

Let's see how that goes tomorrow, I will try to update this thread afterwards so others using a similar setup can find info in the future.
