1PPQ SYNC issue with Dj equipment (External Audio)

hi Simon,
amazing updates as always. i tried the 1PPQ input setting with my dj equipment,

sent an audio out to the 'Nome I 'thru my mixer playing a simple 4 by 4 techno beat , adjusted the right volume input ...
but the tempo isn't sync-ing. its all over the place.
the start stop functions work fine though.

Hi Deej

The 1ppq sync will not work with any audio, it's not beat detection. It needs regular and sharp (loud and short) audio transients.

So it would only work with a 4 on the floor beat (every 4th note), or anything twice as fast (8th notes) or more.
BUT - more importantly, even a 4 on the floor beat will not work unless every beat is significantly louder than the rest of the music. Imagine a metronome sound, or a simple loud kick sound without anything else.

And for sure the volume needs to be adjusted to be set just right.

Alternatively, have you tried syncing with your DJ gear using the BPM decimals and the time nudging?

yeah, guess i misunderstood it for beat detection.
well that future feature would be amazing!

otherwise i do sync it manually.. sometimes the MIDI clock doing all the work syncing my drum machines to my Dj set up would be awesome!
