I just happily unpacked my Reliq (what a beautiful interface!) and of course one of then first things I want is get everything in sync. MIdronome and Live work flawlessly via the u-sync plugin. I have setup the Reliq as described in the docs. But either I can use u-sync and select "Reliq" or select "midronome", and the behavior is that either the DAW is in sync with Reliq or with Midronome hardware, but what I want is all three being in sync.
Now, my super smart assistant Perplexity tells me that is not how it works, and pretty often s/he is right, but I though better ask some humans?
Will I basically have to just use midi to sync Reliq with the rest of my setup?
Cheers

Re: Reliq, Midronome, u-sync & Ableton Live
Glad you like the Reliq - it's a beast!
For your setup, just make sure both Nome and Reliq are at the latest firmware. Then use U-SYNC between DAW and Nome, and sync the Reliq to the Nome using a MIDI Cable. All you need to do is configure your Reliq to sync to external MIDI Clock in the settings

Re: Reliq, Midronome, u-sync & Ableton Live
(edited for clarity)
I am still not 100% there.
I have connected the Midronome via usb to the Mac. I have also taken midi out to Reliq. In the u-sync app I select midronome.
Pressing Play on Midronome will start Live but not Reliq. Reliqs Play button will light up in blue, indicating "Reliq is armed to be controlled externally".
I will need to sync by press/holding the Midronome's Play button to actually start Reliq.
Pressing stop on Midronome reliably stops Reliq, too.
Reliq Midi settings are "sync to external clock" on; external control device "none", Control plays/stop externally to "on" or "off", no difference there as this is for using the host connection, which I am not. For the record, when I tried this and used Midi sync from Live, that works reliably. (unplug the midi to Reliq Midi in cable). But that is not the goal - the goal is to clock and control the Reliq from, Midronome. Clocking works fine.
A.PL on the nome is set to both.
Also, if I should ask at the Reliq forum instead, let me know. Always a bit complicated if several systems are involved.
Thoughts?

Re: Reliq, Midronome, u-sync & Ableton Live
Hi Fables
Your setup looks correct on Reliq and the Nome. In Ableton, you should remove the "sync" and "remote" checkbox: you remove them all. The "track" checkboxes you can remove as well, except if you want to send MIDI to/from the devices (I would keep them for Reliq Out 1 and In 1, and for Nome MIDI Out 1&2).
With that setup you should be able to press play on:
* Ableton
* Nome
* on the DAW page on Reliq (in this case the button might be blue, but that does not mean anything other than "DAW was started from Reliq")
Any of these would start all 3, in time with each other. Stop would also stop all three.
Pressing play/stop on Reliq on any other page would start the Reliq sequencer only.
Simon
PS: yes if this was another device than Reliq, it could have been a good idea to ask on their forum as well. But in Reliq's case the two companies are working very tightly with one another so you can ask about either device on either community (up to a point

Re: Reliq, Midronome, u-sync & Ableton Live
thanks again Simon
after further reducing the test setup, I found the issue. It is the plugin setting for high latency. If this is turned on, Reliq will not start, simple as that. From a user's perspective, I would consider this a bug.
