Input combinations

Your info describes the input as allowing one or two pedals, or audio sync or drum pad. Does the audio sync require both sides of a balanced connection? If not, could a Y-cable be used for one pedal and one audio sync source from the DAW, so that the pedal can be used for start/stop, or mute, independently from the DAW?

Yep - you're exactly right

Tip (Left) of the plug is either:
* Pedal
* Drum Pad
* DAW sync (or any other audio sync)

And the ring (Right) can only be a second pedal (mute or start/stop), along with whatever you want on the Tip.

Note that if you use the pedal is set as Start/stop, it acts exactly like the Play button.
