Hello everybody,
I am using the Midronome (not Nome II). I need it for synchronizing some Eurorack Trigger Modules via the clock out and a Boss RC500 Looper via the Midi out. Thy need to be synchronized to a self build mechanical device which sends out a 5v Pulse signal in the normal bpm range.
Since I did the software update and use the 24p mode the clock sync is working great.
But: As soon as I change to 24p mode the looper is not getting the midi clock signal anymore.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks a lot,
Thilo

Re: no Midi in Sync Mode
Hi Thilo
Thanks for asking here! I am not sure I fully understand though... Are you saing the MIDI/ANLG sync is working i.e. your EUrorack modules and RC500 are in sync with the Nome, but you are struggling to get the Nome to follow your 5V pulse using the 24P mode?
If so, how fast is the pulse? It needs to be at 24 parts per quarternote (24ppq, hence the name "24P"). If it is slower you'll have to wait for FW 5.0 which adds sync to 1ppq.

Re: no Midi in Sync Mode
Hello Simon,
thanks for the quick response.
The synchronizition between the analog in and the analog clock out is working fine if the input is set on 24P. Only the midi out to the RC500 is not working as soon as I switch to 24P.
If the input setting is on pad or p.a.d. the midi out to the rc500 is working (but then the analog clock out is slowly shifting away from the analog input)
thanks,
Thilo

Re: no Midi in Sync Mode
How fast is your signal? is it 24ppq? If it is, make sure it is "loud enough" for the device to sync to it.
Another thought: listen to the Nome's metronome and check the "Locked" led to know if it is synced correctly.
If the Nome's ANLG out works, then the MIDI Out will work as well.
My guess is the ANLG is not working properly but somehow outputs something you can use.

Re: no Midi in Sync Mode
actually my signal is 1ppq. So I need it translated into a trigger 1:1. And this seens to work (at least most of the time..sometimes it gets confused).
OK, I think I understand now. It is propably as you say:
"My guess is the ANLG is not working properly but somehow outputs something you can use."
That means I have to wait for FW5.0 to make the 1ppq working for real. Until then, I guess no looper for me..
Thanks a lot,
Thilo

Re: no Midi in Sync Mode
Yes that explains it
If you want to try FW 5.0 already now, there is an alpha available, called 4.96-alpha.
See the updated PDF manual in https://download.simntonic.com/docs , section 8.3 explains how to install the alpha firmware, and sections 7 and 6.1 explain how the new features work.
