I may be alone on this one...
but having done years and years of woodshedding with a Dr. Beat, I'm missing one little feature here on the Nome II:
the DB-66 has this option to throw in the 8th note ( at any volume level )
( see this pdf : https://www.cosmosmusic.com/upload/boar ... -66_e2.pdf)
It would be pretty cool to be able to have that option as well.
This would be independent from the midi clock info transmitted of course... it's just for the headphone or audio output of the unit.

Re: Boss Dr. Beat DB-66 features!
Hi Pete
I think this is already done in this feature viewtopic.php?t=301 ?
Setting a time signature in x/8 will precisely add what you want.
The only thing missing would be another independent volume setting for the "8th node" - for now it will have the same volume as any the "Uo.2" - Volume2, i.e. volume of every click expect the downbeat.
Do you want to change this topic into a "Add a Uo.3 for 8th and 16th audio metronome clicks?

You can simply edit your first post
Please think about how much would be the minimum for you:

Please think about how much would be the minimum for you:
- In an ideal world we could add a Uo.3, Uo.4, and a CL.3, CL.4 settings to change both volume and click sound for 8th (Uo.3/CL.3) and 16th notes (Uo.4/CL.4).
- On the other end are no settings at all for 8th and 16th notes, having the same sound and volume as non-downbeats.
- Then you have all the possibilities in the middle, with only one setting Uo.3, or only CL.3, or Uo.3+CL.3, etc.

Re: Adding new volume level (Uo.3 and Uo.4) for 8th and 16th notes
Taking into account AnotherSimon's comment here, I think a good workaround for this, without any other setting, would be to simply make 8th and 16th notes quieter by default.
I would suggest a volume 2 steps below the volume of 4th notes (Uo.2 setting), which means a 12dB difference.
This is very easy to implement and since it does not require any new setting, it could be implemented as part of FW 4.0.

That would be excellent, thanks!Simon wrote: ↑08 Jan 2025, 09:30 Taking into account AnotherSimon's comment here, I think a good workaround for this, without any other setting, would be to simply make 8th and 16th notes quieter by default.

PS: really appreciate the quick response to my query.

Awesome What do you think about the 12dB? I could also do 6dB?
You can check this on your device by comparing the volume, each "number" is a 6dB difference.
To quickly change the volume hold the setup button down and turn the knob.

Re: Adding new volume level (Uo.3 and Uo.4) for 8th and 16th notes
I reckon 6dB is too subtle ... 12dB would be preferable (at least for me!).
Thanks.
(PS this took me a couple of days as I hadn't updated my notification settings)
Re: Adding new volume level (Uo.3 and Uo.4) for 8th and 16th notes
No worries
And I agree, I did a few listening tests and I would also say 12dB sounds like the better choice.
So it's decided, by default all 8th and 16th notes will be 12dB less loud.
I'll investigate next week to know if this makes it to FW 4.0 or 5.0.
Then maybe there will be more settings like Uo.3, Uo.4, CL.3 and CL.4 in the future, but if this solution fits 99% of the people I'm happy

Unfortunately this will not make it for FW 4.0, but I will make it first priority for FW 5.0, maybe even a middle release like 4.5.
