Hi all
Been using our midronomes since receiving them and they are proving very useful - great job Simon, looking forward to seeing what else you come up with in the future!
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for drum pads/footswitches for tap tempo? I guess any/most will work, but if anyone has any experience with one piece of kit over another it would be good to know
Cheers
Ash
Pad/footswitch recommendation for tap tempo
Re: Pad/footswitch recommendation for tap tempo
Happy to hear you like the device Ash
Footswitches can pretty much be anything, and the Midronome will accept both latching and non-latching, as well as automatically detect the polarity.
Drum pads can be a bit more tricky because some are more sensitive than others, but hopefully the 3 sensitivity levels of the Midronome help.
It has been tested with a Roland PD-8, as well as an beaten up tom pad from an old Yamaha set, and a Millenium (Thomann's brand) MPS-300 cymbal pad.
But it should work with pretty much anything, also drum triggers. And if you feel like going the DIY way, you can buy a piezoelectric sensor, solder a 6.35mm TS jack cable to it, then attach the sensor to anything you want to hit
Cheers
