U-Sync 2.0 and Logic/Reason timing anomaly

Post by belfordroxo »

Hi all (and Sim'n'tonic developers hopefully!)

I was very interested in this blog post about the benefits of USYnc2.0:
https://simntonic.com/blogs/blog/how-mu ... ck-jitter

As a Logic user I was slightly dismayed to read this section:
"Logic Pro and Reason share one timing pattern (†). With U-SYNC, about 23 ticks per run land 33 µs late while the rest stay within 1 µs, and those few ticks are what put both DAWs at about 5 µs RMS. The pattern is the same in two DAWs on two operating systems. FL Studio on Mac (‡) is the only other U-SYNC result above 0.1 µs: a few ticks off by up to 10 µs put it at 0.53 µs, still 2,000× lower than that DAW’s own clock."
I wonder if this is something that is inherent to those DAWs, or whether it is something that can resolved by a USync software update and/or a Nome firmware update?

I also posted this question in the Facebook group.

Thanks

Will

following... (asked Simon directly about it). At least i want Logic to be there where cubase gets with U-sync. They are starting from the same Point but Logic only gets 8x better whereas Cubase shoots 800 X better than its native clock...
