Hi I’m Jack

I have a question for you, is there a way to start my track (in this case a click track) on my ableton daw directly from my Symntonic Nome 2 with count in function??

For example i want that the track in Ableton start when I give 4 beat on my Nome 2 whith 4count in function (in this way I can launch a loop track if the rest of band have been Just start to play)

Thanks for the answer

Hi Jack :)

Thanks for asking!
Are you on Windows or Mac?

I see :)

Well on Mac, if you have U-SYNC fully set up (bi-directional), then you could use the Count-off feature (tapping the first bar), which will get Ableton to start on time after the tapping. You can tap the count-off bar with a pedal or a drum pad.

Another alternative would be to simply sync Ableton "like a machine", using MIDI Clock sent over USB-MIDI (deactivating U-SYNC completely). That's not as precise as U-SYNC, but if it is precise enough for your setup you can use the Count-in feature to start Ableton.

A 3rd alternative is simply to use the Nome as a click track since it has one already? The Nome's metronome is highly configurable, and you can unmute it automatically at different stages (see the "Mut" advanced setting), or even use a pedal/CC message to unmute it.
