Old mac and U-sync

I am still using an old intel macbook pro with Catalina 10.15
I downloaded the U-sync software and installed it.
I can open de plugin in Renoise and get the message: No hardware connected…

I didn’t buy nome2 yet, I first wanted to try if I could install and open the plugin.
Simon replied on simular topic: old MacOS, no way… but in this case I can open the plugin, so I am hoping it could work?

Thanks,

Simon

In theory 10.15 could work, but we definitely have not tested it on such an old OS, so there are no guarantees.
You can make sure that:
1. The daemon is installed and running (check the top right corner of your screen, you should see the Daemon as "SnT" icon
2. The plugin can run in your DAW, and find the Daemon (it should not say "daemon not running") - when you click on the Daemon icon it should say "DAW Connected".

If you have both of these, then I'd say it has a chance of working - but still no guarantees, something could go wrong at many levels (U-SYNC is a very complex and relies heavily on the OS, its drivers, etc.).

On the other hand, if U-SYNC does not work, you can always use the "audio sync track" solution, using this plugin to generate the track (which send needs to be sent to the INPUT plug on the Nome). This works just as well, and is the way all other clock devices sync to DAWs (since they do not have U-SYNC). The only downside is it requires an audio output from your audio interface to be dedicated for sync.

Thank you Simon…

Yes, U-sync daemon is working, DAW connected and I can open the plugin…

Now all I need is the hardware!

I’ll post an update when I tried it…
