(Midro-) nome, U-sync & MioXL

Hey there
I have just upgraded my Midronome to the latest & greatest everything, and now can enjoy bi-directional communication between Ableton Live & the Midronome if I plug it into my Mac directly. Nice!. Unless, of course I want to put the MioXL into the middle of those two. In that case, no luck.
Why would I want to do that? Well, my gear sits across the room, not on my desktop. That is where I want to have a stable clock and analog outs, as well as the possibility to change the BPM. When I am on my desk, I could just use Ableton Live to change the BPM (or any controller mapped to it).
Setup:
Live goes via USB cable to the MioXL ("USB DAW'), MioXL to the Midronome via USB HST and vise-versa.
First question
Did anybody here successfully do that? Please share your setup details (MioXL config, mainly)
Second question
Auracle X allows me to do a "USB Host Reservation". There, I have one Port Name (HST 1) which I could rename if that is relevant for the Daemon to know what's happening. What is the daemon looking for? For the port reservation itself, there are three possible ports advertised by
"Sim'n Tonic Midronome" of which apparently I can only select one. Which one? Or is that the issue and I need to somehow map all three? How? Third Question
What exactly does U-sync send via USB, or more specifically, does it need USB, or could I link the DAW (or deamon?) with e.g. RTP Midi? The idea here is that I already have the MioXL connected via ethernet RTP Midi and would much love to not need a second cable across the studio just for the USB connection.
Thanks
