Nome II with Gig Performer

Hello,
i am working with Gig Performer (its a DWAW/ Pluginhost) which is receiving perfect clock from my elektron model samples drum machine. which was achieved plug and play....
however, with my nome II (updated firmware today) i can´t get it running properly…
I can make GP receive the tempo but only when NOT PLAYING. Start Stop from the Midiclock device works but when GP is in play-mode (green play button lit) then the tempo changes wildly allround
do you have an idea?
Thanks,
Konrad

Hi Konrad
I'm sorry to hear, but this is a very simple setup and I am confident we can find whatever is wrong quickly.
The Nome sends the following MIDI over the USB:
- MIDI Clock (constantly, whether it is playing or not)
- MIDI SPP 0,0 followed by MIDI Start when the (first) Play button "starts" (i.e. when it lights up)
- MIDI Stop (and All Notes Off) when the (first) Play button "stops" (i.e. when its light turns off)
This works with any software following MIDI Clock, for example Ableton, FL Studio, or Reason.
Now what message does the Elektron send that the Nome does not? I'm not sure - this stuff is pretty standard and my guess is that it sends the same.

I am not sure I understand - GP follows Nome but not when it's playing? As mentioned above the Clock is sent constantly, but most software will ignore it until a "MIDI Start" message is sent, which is what happens when you press on the Play button (the first one, on the left).

Thanks!
I don´t know what the exact messages are, i am more on the musicians side of those things
the Problem seems to be whenever the DAW is playing.
Random BPM change the moment i press play...
I made a video to show, what happens:

Ohhh I see, well spotted!
Yes that makes perfect sense now, the U-SYNC communication was activated as soon as the Nome is playing and was interfering with the MIDI Clock sync.
Interesting that you could load U-SYNC in Gig Performer, that's definitely not an "officially supported" DAW. Was U-SYNC working?
