Progress on Windows , Reaper and Usync

Post by Omarkum »

I struggle to understand this stuff...I am pretty keen to order a Nome 2 ..but wonder when the unit will support all of its features On windows and in Reaper. What cant It do in the current state of play.? How many hardware units can it control at once...will it work using a quadra thru for example.?

Hi :)

Yes the Nome will work fine with a Quadra Thru, and there is no limit on how many devices you can sync.

Regarding the DAW/OS setup, as of today, on Windows and Reaper you get:
  • sample-accurate sync between Reaper and your Nome (and all the machines connected) - using the "audio sync track" method (which does require a dedicated audio output for sync on your audio interface)
  • adjustable latency for all machines connected to the Nome (not individually) by adjusting the delay in Reaper on the audio sync track
We hope to release both per-output latency adjustment (if you use some machines with much larger delays than others, like the TR-1000) and U-SYNC for Windows throughout 2026. But there are no guarantees or ETA for either.

Thanks Simon...I will get on to your order page to see what I am up for...ie Shipping cost to Australia. Thanks again for the quick reply... Edit sorry one more question if I use via the audio out option that you suggest , would the Nome itself remain the Master and Reaper the slave...or is that not the case?

With the audio sync track the Nome follows the DAW (DAW is the master), since it follows the audio sync track generated by the DAW.
