Hi,
I have just recieved Nome 2 to tighten up my external drum machines, i have the nome 2 conected to my mac stuio via USB,
Nome midi out - Kenton thru 12 midi in
Kenton thro midi out - Various drum sequencers
In logic pro 11.2.2, i'm monotering thru UAD console via the audi inputs in logic, i have loaded the U-Syn on an instrument track - set up the buffer size as per manual, when i hit play in logic with the U-sync instrument track activated it starts and stops but drifts out of sync over one bar, so its not syncing to logics tempo,
If i de=activate the midi instrument it syncs okay but if a change the tempo in logic the nome 2 dosent respond, i have to adjust this via the dial on the mome 2 to match logics tempo
How are other people setting up the Mome 2 with logic,
Thanks D!

Re: U-Sync - Logic Pro
Hi
Start by checking U-SYNC is working: press play in Logic, the Nome "SYNC" led should light up and if the tempo changes in Logic, the Nome should follow.
If not, check the U-SYNC Daemon status, check what the U-SYNC plugin says. See more things you can check in the U-SYNC Manual, in the Troubleshooting section.
Simon
PS: make sure your Nome's firmware is up to date as well.

Re: U-Sync - Logic Pro
Hi,
Tried this, got it working using the U-Sync but it struggles to sync with logic and drifts out of sync, i’m syncing multiple drum machines, gone back to my roland UM-1 which is much tighter and doesn’t drift or require the U-Sync instrument.
thanks anyway…

Re: U-Sync - Logic Pro
The UM-1 is just a USB-MIDI interface, so you are basically using the MIDI Clock coming from Logic. If that works for you, then yes you cannot get any simpler
But U-SYNC should work just as well, we have tons of Logic users who are perfectly happy with it.
Not only it should be much more precise than Logic's clock (I doubt you can record on the grid with the UM-1), but it definitely should not drift. So something should be off in the config somehow.

Re: U-Sync - Logic Pro
Hi Simon,
Maybe, i managed to find a set up video for Ableton but there’s nothing around for logic Pro, to be honest i found the manual a bit confusing, hence why i posted my original comments to see how others have it set up,
i’m recording the audio straight in from the external drum machines. there’s always some latency issues!
thanks!
