Mute button follows Play button
Mute button follows Play button
This is a feature asked by a few people already.
The idea is to add another setting where the Mute button automatically follow the Play button: it unmutes when it is playing, and mutes again when playing.
In my idea it would still be possible to press the mute button to unmute, but if the play button is pressed the mute/unmute status (of the metronome) will change accordingly.
Feel free to comment as always

Yes, this is something I would be interested in for live use!
Re: Mute button follows Play button
Great idea! I think it would be also beneficial to have it also be a setting to be muted while playing, and unmuted while stopped - that way a drummer who otherwise can follow along w/ the rest of the band (if it's clocked with a Midronome), but still use it as a click track when synths are not playing to set tempo, during a break, or to click-off into the next song.

I need that feature too! It would so replace my existing setup, I would have to press fewer buttons.Simon wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023, 21:13 This is a feature asked by a few people already.

Re: Mute button follows Play button
I think I'd find this helpful - especially in conjunction with the Reset 'On' mode (where audio click is reset / rewound to the start of a bar).
Re: Mute button follows Play button
Hi all - I just realized there is an easy workaround for those who want this feature.
You'll need a pedal and 2 adapter cables: a TRS -> 2xTS splitter and a TS -> 2xTS duplicater.
Situation 1: your pedal has a jack input plug (like the Zoom FS01 or Boss FS-5x), then you need:
Press the pedal and voilà - you can do Mute and Play at the same time

Re: Mute button follows Play button
Switching with a pedal works great. Even freely alternating with the MIDI Start/Stop CC#.

Does this work with the new Nome II?Simon wrote: ↑22 Nov 2023, 12:01 Hi all - I just realized there is an easy workaround for those who want this feature.

Then you plug the two adapter cables together, put the TRS end in the INPUT of the Midronome, and the other end in your pedal. Then you simply configure your Midronome to activate both pedal inputs (PEd and PE.2), one set to Mute, the other set to Play.

I'd love to see an option for the headphone output to follow the Start / Stop events. ( muting when stopped ).

Re: Mute button follows Play button
Yes it does
This is a workaround so you can implement it now already.
But otherwise yes, this feature (without any workaround) is already on the roadmap for FW 4.0, estimated for January

Re: Mute button follows Play button
Just want to report this little work around is perfect.
Exactly what we need for a live band setting where the drummer (me) hears/controls the click ... which is then distributed to the various guitarist's pedal boards to sync their time based effects.

Hi all
This feature will be the occasion to rearrange the current "PLA" setting to make it clearer.
As a quick reminder, here is the current "PLA" setting, which is about the configuration of the Play&Mute buttons:

- bot (both) - start machines connected on both MIDI Port 1 & 2
- onE - start machines connected on MIDI Port 1 only
- SEP (separate) - separate the two buttons, one button for each MIDI Port
- PL.1 Play button 1 (the left button) configuration:

- PL.2 Play button 2 (the right button) configuration:
- PLA (play) - configure as a play button
- Mut (mute) - configure as a mute button
- Mut Muting mode
- nor (normal) - mute does not follow play
- FOL (follow) - mute follows play
- the AnL setting (changing from "OFF, On, PLA, din" to "OFF, con, FOL, din" - same options but different names)
- the Mid setting, used to stop the midi clock output when not playing, values "OFF, con, FOL"
