Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 4.0
Thanks! I downloaded the 1.1 firmware tool and now it DOES detect my device - but it also gives an error about not being able to use MIDI. I'm assuming this is the Windows issue you'd mentioned in the post above. I'm also assuming that if it did connect, it would tell me I already have 4.0 installed...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 4.0
Simon, This is unfortunate. As to your timeline, let's take a look at that: 1. Sequoia was released 9/16/2024 2. Your FW 4.0 release notification (according to your support page) was 2/1/2025 (4.5 months or thereabouts AFTER Sequoia released) 3. Where exactly did you announce that users with Sequoi...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 4.0
Everything else about the Midronome is working great - the interfaces show up in the DAW, I can send MIDI CC to start/stop the sequencer, etc. I made sure nothing else was using MIDI and waited several minutes after starting the firmware updater - it still can't detect the Midronome. The detection ...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 4.0
Could be user error, but I didn't see instructions to first put the device into bootloader mode BEFORE running the firmware updater. I'd already updated the bootloader for 3.1, so am assuming I don't need to again. Yes that's correct, you should not need to start the bootloader - the new one is sma...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 4.0
EDIT: Nope. A new cable directly from the PC didn't make a difference. I can't update the Midronome from firmware 3.0 using the new 4.0 firmware updater. What message do you get? And what Windows version are you using? From 3.0 you should get a message that says you need to upgrade the bootloader f...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 4.0
Past firmware updates to the Midronome worked just fine. But the new one (Windows) won't detect it even though the connections haven't changed since I received it after the Kickstarter. Guess I'll have to temporarily re-cable things later and hope for the best. The experience so far is a step backwa...

Not sure where to post this, but Microsoft has started released the MIDI updates (native ASIO coming at some point). Not sure if this impacts the Nome project, but hopefully it will help, not hurt! https://devblogs.microsoft.com/windows-music-dev/announcing-windows-midi-services-customer-preview-1/ ...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 3.0 & U-SYNC 1.0
Better late than never (with 4.0 around the corner)? I upgraded - took a couple tries before the Midronome would accept the file for 3.0. But it did. I've rebooted the Midronome a few times, uninstalled from Windows Device Manager, restarted the computer... I still don't have any Midronome/NomeII Co...

Sadness.
I'm so rarely jealous of people using Macs, but this is one of those times. I've been using Windows since v 3.1. And, while I use a Mac everyday for work, I'm not switching my music computer away from Windows.

Re: [BETA Available] Firmware 3.0
I'm actually pretty excited for the "combined" 24P/2.4.P. mode, as this (if I understand correctly) allows for immediate start upon receiving pulses (like 2.4.P. always did) and also us Midronome as master clock when you're not sending it pulses form your DAW (like 24P always did). Previo...

Re: [F] Sync to 24ppq signal - improved sync to DAWs
A feature request: the ability to enable "steady clock" when using the new plugin to smooth out multiple rapid clock changes. I had my CPU unexpectedly max out doing something in the background and it of course caused a lot of popping and clicking in my DAW - and it freaked the F out of t...

Re: Adjusted to Sync, cannot lock to a tempo
Unfortunately, the sync tool has the same issue. I’ve tried lots of combos of interface mixer volumes and DAW volumes to no avail. Right now the only sync that works- and it does work - is to use the ARA plugin set to sync when playing. That way it syncs from the Midronome when stopped and is synche...

Re: [A] DAW Plugin - community open-source project
Whew. If it’s yellow and yellow is good, then I think it’s good in that regard.
However, I still have the issue of if I stop playing the DAW, the bpm drifts. So I have to set the plugin to only send when the DAW is playing. That way it only drifts for a moment when the DAW stops.

Adjusted to Sync, cannot lock to a tempo
Hi Simon (and community) I've adjusted the Midronome per the videos and documentation to be "in the middle" between the LED changing to red and just turning off. For me this is -4.5 in the DAW. I'm currently just trying to use the pre-generated sync file in Studio 1 6.2.1 on Win11. I've at...

Re: [A] DAW Plugin - community open-source project
How did you set up S1 Pro 6? I did what was shown in the video (I've been using the sync file generator and using the DAW Pipeline plugin to route the audio to the Midronome via an output on my interface) and can't get it to show as an ARA plugin in the DAW - I always get the not an ARA plugin erro...

Re: Suggestion: DAW sync experience
i agree that this would be more pratical... i just tried tio use ableton/push and midronome but it is too much tricky for me. i use ableton live/push as principal 'remote' of the system and i think that 'as it is' the midronome is not the good tool. it is i think at his good place with hardware-seq...

New competition for Midronome
A competitor of sorts (same space but more focused on modular overall) has arrived. Rather different philosophies on display when looking at the hardware.

Thanks for the additional information. That Arturia Anti-ground loop adapter bundled with the keystep 37 seems interesting. Too bad they're not selling it as a spare part. Re: MIDI Forwarding from USB to MIDI-DIN
Seems like, during testing, that some capacity testing would need to be done to get an idea of just how much other MIDI data can flow through each port without disturbing the clock. This'll surely be asked, otherwise. Automation of many parameters of a DAW VST editor out to one or more synths would ...

Re: CV output is noisy?
Am I using the wrong type of cable? Is there a way to reduce the "noise" on the Midronome side to just the clock pulses? Hi Dave Yes that's unfortunately true, it's caused by a ground loop, which makes the Midronome's display noise take the wrong path. Basically that noise should be on th...
