Re: ROADMAP for Firmware 4.0
Quick update here: everything is now implemented except the Presets. The ANLG options gave a lot of work in particular to make sure the clock was super tight no matter what mode you are in (Standalone, U-SYNC, 24ppq sync, reset mode, Drum pad mode, etc.). The minor features are also all implemented,...

Re: Stop the midi clock output
This is now implemented and will be released with FW 4.0. Regarding the FOL (clock follows play) option: the MIDI Clock is sent as soon as the play button is pressed. That means your machines will get at least 7 MIDI Clock messages to sync before it receives the MIDI Start message, which some machin...

Re: Midi Counter
Hi Achim :) Sorry I don't think I fully understand, but from the little I do it does not seem like this is the Nome would be able to do? The Nome is a simple Master Clock and metronome, it sounds like you would want something quite advanced and specific, which you could do with a laptop and a DAW ma...

Re: Digitakt II sync compatibility
Let me add that for now you can only send MIDI Commands over USB - so since both the Digitakt and the Nome have USB device only, you'll need a USB host to transfer the information between the two. That could be a computer or a small box like the Kenton MIDI USB Host. Or, as I said - unless you want ...

Re: Digitakt II sync compatibility
I see :) Well actually the Nome might not be the best product for you, it sounds like you "just" want a metronome that could follow your Digitakt? The Nome is a Master Clock as its core, so yes it's designed to give a stable and jitter-free clock to your gear, if it allowed using your Digi...

Re: Start/Reset for ANLG output
Ok, I'll follow PAM's naming convention, I think it's much easier when different manufacturers agree to a name. So run it is.
Regarding the timings, I'll have:
Regarding the timings, I'll have:
- rES and 2-99 options will send pulses about 0.5ms early
- The run gate will start about 1ms early

Re: Adding new volume level (Uo.3 and Uo.4) for 8th and 16th notes
No worries ;) And I agree, I did a few listening tests and I would also say 12dB sounds like the better choice. So it's decided, by default all 8th and 16th notes will be 12dB less loud. I'll investigate next week to know if this makes it to FW 4.0 or 5.0. Then maybe there will be more settings like...

Re: Digitakt II sync compatibility
Hi! Welcome! And well that's an interesting setup :D So if I understand correctly you would set the Digitakt to follow the Nome for songs without tempo changes, but for songs with tempo changes you want the Digitakt to be the master and the Nome to follow? There are 2 ways I can think of: The Nome i...

Re: Start/Reset for ANLG output
I don’t think it should be problematic to have the “2…99” output mode set in such a way that it is, say, 0.3 ms ahead of the regular clock output. Hi @amaeland, I'm currently implementing this feature, considering what you wrote :D As written above, I can make the rES pulse sent 1ms early, while th...

Awesome What do you think about the 12dB? I could also do 6dB?
You can check this on your device by comparing the volume, each "number" is a 6dB difference.
To quickly change the volume hold the setup button down and turn the knob.

Re: Adding new volume level (Uo.3 and Uo.4) for 8th and 16th notes
Taking into account AnotherSimon's comment here , I think a good workaround for this, without any other setting, would be to simply make 8th and 16th notes quieter by default. I would suggest a volume 2 steps below the volume of 4th notes (Uo.2 setting), which means a 12dB difference. This is very e...

Re: Support for other time signatures (6/8, 2/2, 4/2, etc.)
Hi - have just received my Nome II (all the way from Denmark to Western Australia) and took it to rehearsal last night. Our drummer is very used to clicks in 8ths so we reverted back to our usual device (Tama RW200). I'm hoping that with this update as part of the new firmware we will be able to se...

Re: Nome II/ U-SYNC /Ableton 12 latency
So with regards to my query regarding taking an analogue output from Nome directly to Pam's via a stereo left+ right splitter, do you think this would help overall in making the modular synths even tighter and at the same time perhaps take the pressure off the midi latency by not using the Oxi One ...

Re: Nome II/ U-SYNC /Ableton 12 latency
I meant that if the Nome's metronome is recorded on the grid, but that your drums/sequences are not, then it means the sync DAW <-> Nome is ok, so any clock coming out of the Nome will be perfectly on time with the DAW. So if your sequencers/drum machines still have latency, it means there is an ext...

See this post as well: https://forum.simntonic.com/viewtopic.php?p=2428#p2428 To check the actual latency of Ableton, please record the Metronome output of the Nome, see if this is on the grid. Re: Midi Forwarding best practice?
Ok. So what i imagine is, that i use a midi pattern in ableton and send it via nome II to my synth. by using u-sync on top i get precise start/stop/sync for this pattern. Is this what you are doing now - or you are just speculating? If you are speculating, then no, as I said U-SYNC will not change ...

Re: Midi Forwarding best practice?
Yes, you're correct, it works exactly like a USB-MIDI interface (it is one, in fact).
And no, U-SYNC makes no difference for MIDI forwarding, U-SYNC is only used for clock/start/stop, not for sending other MIDI data like Notes, CC, etc.

Re: Nome II, U-SYNC and Ableton 12
If Logic sees the AU plugin but Ableton does not see the VST3 plugin, it's probably because you have installed the AU plugin but not the VST3 plugin? :D Try re-running the U-SYNC installer, then refreshing your list of plugins in Ableton. If you still cannot see it, check the folders /Library/Audio/...

Re: Boss Dr. Beat DB-66 features!
You can simply edit your first post :) Please think about how much would be the minimum for you: In an ideal world we could add a Uo.3, Uo.4, and a CL.3, CL.4 settings to change both volume and click sound for 8th (Uo.3/CL.3) and 16th notes (Uo.4/CL.4). On the other end are no settings at all for 8t...

Hi Pete I think this is already done in this feature https://forum.simntonic.com/viewtopic.php?t=301 ? Setting a time signature in x/8 will precisely add what you want. The only thing missing would be another independent volume setting for the "8th node" - for now it will have the same vol...

1. screen off after some time if Nome is stopped. What do you mean "Nome is stopped"? You mean the Play button is not lit up (i.e. sequencers & other devices are stopped)? I would personally see this feature as a "sleep mode", where the device continues to work as normal but...

Re: Midi Forwarding best practice?
Hi - Merry Christmas! Well I would love to hear how other people use the forwarding feature as well. I would personally simply send the MIDI Data to the "MIDI Out 1" or "MIDI Out 2" USB-MIDI interfaces directly from Ableton, without any other device/plugin. U-SYNC is not related ...

It sounds like it's all working as it should? It should do it once, and then the advanced settings are visible until you restart the device
Which setting are you looking for?
Note that the advanced settings will be moved to their own sub-menu anyways in FW 4.0 coming in January.
