Request: Metronome Clicks as MIDI Notes
This is something of a follow-on to my earlier description of a method for getting Reaper to follow varying tempos generated by Midronome . In this method, the Midronome's analog clock output is brought into Reaper as an audio click track during performance; the click track is subsequently transform...

Re: Knob sensitivity
The issue for me is that, like pitch, tempo is fundamentally logarithmic. That is to say, the difference between quarter notes going from 60 to 61 bpm (a one bpm change) is like eighth notes going from 120 to 122 (two bpm change). The higher the BPM number, the more it needs to change to cause the s...

Re: Expression pedal to change tempo
The MIDI Expression box can send either a CC with a value between 0 and 127, or an NRPN with a value between 0 and 16,383. With its configuration software you can define upper and lower boundaries for the value, as well as draw a curve mapping pedal position to output value. So if the Midronome supp...

Re: Extend USB Commands
Yes, one of those three suggested implementations, but no, not a CC (128 values possible); I am talking about a Non-Registered Parameter Number (NRPN), supporting 16,384 values in a single message.

Re: Extend USB Commands
I have one: the full-gamut tempo control on CCs 85 and 86 would also be useful to get on a single NRPN, where you pass desired tempo value as an integer between 30 and 400, e.g. 60 gets you 60 bpm tempo value times ten as an integer between 300 and 4000, e.g. 600 gets you 60 bpm tempo value between ...

Re: Expression pedal to make change tempo
the possibility of smoothly controlling tempo through an expression pedal was the largest contributing factors to my purchase. I upvote this feature; it would be great to have tempo-via-pedal right on the Midronome. In the meantime, I am using the MIDI Expression IO box from Audiofront to do this e...

Re: Use a pedal to change ANLG speed
It'd also be nice to have this be changeable via a CC message on MIDI channel 12.

Re: Record gear in time in Reaper with the Midronome
My Analog Clock settings were the factory defaults, fresh from the box: An.L = On; An.1 = 1. I would assume that one could alternatively use the audio jack output with pretty much any click sound, although I haven't tested this. Really the only thing that matters to Reaper is that its Dynamic Split ...

Record gear in time in Reaper with the Midronome
What follows may be of interest to users of the Reaper DAW who want to drive sequencers, arpeggiators, drum machines, beat-synced effects units, etc. in performances with continuously dynamic tempos (i.e. accelerandos and ritardandos). As discussed elsewhere on this forum, Reaper (at its current ver...
