Re: Extend USB Commands
Ah yes, I understand now. Well, seems like it's not really a wanted or particularly needed option anyway.

Re: Extend USB Commands
we could potentially add two more CC numbers (as written above) to map the whole range 0-16383 to the Nome's tempo range (30-400) logarithmically. Let me know if this is of any interest :) Sorry, this was the part I was talking about. Maybe I'm not getting it right, you would add a function to map ...

Re: Extend USB Commands
This would make creating MIDI presets for the tempo changes easier, I think. Streamlining that process seems like a great idea.

Re: Build-in speaker
Interesting! :D Based on the community interest, this would never be an integral part of the device. It would be a simple attachable small speaker, purchased separately. The speaker will probably have a magnet and a plug to go into the " AUDIO " output :) Simon That's what I had in mind. ...

Re: Build-in speaker
Not my choice of needed features, but I could see it being useful in some situations, especially if it's not hard to implement, and if it doesn't bring the cost up too much. Maybe an add on module in the future as an option?

Re: Will Midronome 1 get future firmware updates?
Considering there are no major architecture or software changes, I see no reason why Nome I and Nome II shouldn't share the updates.

Re: Midronome does not forward program change
From my testings, the Midronome is forwarding program change messages normally. Using a Windows PC, Pocket MIDI app sends pc message to Midronome and successfully changes patches on my SPDSX. Note that those instructions are sensitive to the virtual port of the Midronome, so when selecting the MIDI ...

I'm glad to inform that the issue is solved. It was down to Android after all, I have updated to ver 14 and the MIDI ports finally all got recognized! Thank you for the support!

Re: Midronome not forwarding program change messages
I doubt it is a problem with Android since it works with CC messages and not PC messages. It must be something with BH. Also the fact that it crashes is a good point to bring to their support... :D Well, I thought the port for cc messages is not the same as for other MIDI info that should be forwar...

Re: Midronome not forwarding program change messages
Here is an update, just to add to the confusion :?: The screenshots are from different devices, both Android, one from tablet that works normally with Midronome but doesn't 'see' all the ports (and consequently doesn't manage to get the program change to work), and other from phone that 'sees' more ...

I will do that. In the meantime, could this be down to Android system's ability to recognize/use multiple MIDI ports?

Re: Midronome not forwarding program change messages
The only two options when choosing the MIDI port are 'All' and 'Midronome#265' (the number changes with each physical reconnection) which is the port for the F8 messages transmitted. That tells me the that there is only one port that BH uses to send anything.

Re: Midronome not forwarding program change messages
Hey Simon, Thanx for the effort! I have tested more and finally managed to confirm your findings. Program changes do get forwarded through Midronome after all. Using the pocket midi app you suggested, I have made a similar setup and it worked, as well as the monitor showed the pc messages leaving th...

[F] (Android bug) Midronome not forwarding program change messages
Short description of the issue : Midronome is not forwarding MIDI program change messages Setup (devices connected to the Midronome and how): Android tablet/phone connected to USB port of Midronome, MIDI out 1 or 2 connected to Roland SPD-SX Steps to Reproduce : Send a MIDI preset from tablet/phone...

Re: Android BandHelper with Midronome MIDI cc
Hello again! This is slightly off topic, but still a question about Midronome and Bandhelper. I am sure my problem is only due to inexperience with MIDI, so here is a noob question: How should I go about making a MIDI preset for program change that I would send from Bandhelper through Midronome to R...

From my experience, even mobile devices like a smartphone and tablet can power the Midronome, so any other 'normal' charger or outlet sould be enough.

Re: Tempo over USB
I'd like to be able to send tempo over usb from my ipad to the midronome and then let it sync the received tempo to my peripheral devices. Is this a possibility? Hello! This question should be in 'questions about the Midronome', but for now, I can tell you that Midronome does receive MIDI cc messag...

Re: Threaded mounting point
After fixing the software side of things with the new tablet, now I've made a new setup for use with just the SPD-SX. That was the main driving force behind buying the Midronome in the first place, cause when I play acoustics, I need a master clock for the sampling pad (with edrums, the module was t...

Re: Android BandHelper with Midronome MIDI cc
An update to this topic. Simon has made a special firmware to tackle the Android limitation of the number of MIDI ports that it's able to handle. This has solved the connection issue between Android (v11 and later, probably applies to v7 and later but I haven't tested those) and Midronome. One cavea...

Re: Android BandHelper with Midronome MIDI cc
I don't understand, did you test with other USB devices? but I'm not quite sure if the problem comes from BH implementation or Midronome implementation or Android itself. Testing with them will answer that question - if it works then there must be smth different with the Midronome, if not then the ...

Re: Android BandHelper with Midronome MIDI cc
That is very strange indeed. Are you sure the only thing which has changed is the Android version? Can you try with other USB devices, for example an audio interface which has some MIDI ports? Re: Android BandHelper with Midronome MIDI cc
